ITANAGAR, Nov 23: Claiming some kind of mismanagement in dispensing land compensation under Trans Arunachal Highway for 61 KM long road from Guhatrak ( Kra Dadi)  to DC office Kurung Kumey , All Kurung Kumey District Students Union (AKKDSU) has urged the district administration to freeze the ongoing compensation process.

Addressing the reporters at press club, President AKKDSU, Bengia Anthony opined that the association has received complaints from various land affected people that the authority is not maintaining transparency in dispensing the compensation amount.

‘There are reports that concern DLRSO is collecting bank account no. of land affected people secretly and  there are also names of unaffected people in the compensation list , where as compensation list should have been listed and published officially with details. Moreover when AKKDSU sought detailed report of compensation through RTI, authority has denied conferring any documents within the laid down norms,’ said Anthony.

‘We are not against road and development but no one should be deprived of their rights. Affected people have the right to know how much compensation they are getting against their land acquisition,’ claimed President AKKDSU while demanding the district administration to publish original copy of compensation amount received from the central government.

AKKDSU also alleged that authority didn’t go for any public hearing before dispensing the compensation or survey against the said road projects. ‘We have also verified with MoRTH office regarding the compensation and we are very much surprised that all the amount for compensation has been already paid to the concern authority with details,’ informed Anthony.

However, comments and clarification on the whole episode from the concern DC and DLRSO are still awaited, as this reporter couldn’t reach the concern officers.
