Tawang, Sep 21: The first coordination meeting for the successful conduct of Tawang Marathon 4.0 was held this afternoon at the Headquarters of Tawang Brigade, setting in motion coordinated preparations for the upcoming edition of the annual sporting event.
The meeting was chaired by Commander, Tawang Brigade, Brigadier Vimal Tikoo, and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tawang Rinchin Leta, Superintendent of Police Tawang Tasi Darang, Assistant Commissioner Nawang Thutan, senior officers from the Indian Army and Civil Administration, and representatives of VAS COREWORKS LLP, the organiser of Tawang Marathon 4.0.
During the meeting, Reekay Sharma, a member  of the organising team, gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the preparations, proposed arrangements and various aspects related to the conduct of the upcoming marathon.
The presentation was followed by threadbare discussions on all matters concerning the event. Experiences and lessons from previous editions were reviewed, while issues relating to coordination among stakeholders, participation, publicity, logistics and other arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the marathon were deliberated upon.
In his concluding remarks, Brigadier Vimal Tikoo sought wholehearted cooperation and active participation from all stakeholders to make Tawang Marathon 4.0 more memorable and attractive. He emphasised the need to ensure maximum participation and intensify publicity activities so that the event reaches a wider  audience.
He further stressed that the responsibility for the successful conduct of the marathon should not rest with any single organisation.
All stakeholders, he said, must take collective ownership and work in close coordination to take this important annual event to greater heights.
The Commander also emphasised creating a memorable experience for participants so that they carry back positive memories of Tawang and are encouraged to visit the district again.
The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment of the Indian Army, District Administration, organisers and other stakeholders towards making Tawang Marathon 4.0 a well-coordinated and successful event while further promoting Tawang as a destination for sports, adventure and tourism.
