ITANAGAR, Feb 13: Governor BD Mishra interacted with the students from Rajiv Gandhi University, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology and National Institute of Technology on the theme, ‘Fundamentalism & Terrorism – a global challenge’ at Raj Bhavan today.

Terming fundamentalism and terrorism as obstruction to peace and march of prosperity, he said terrorism, in any form, has no justification and called upon the students and youth to oppose fundamentalism and terrorism in all forms.

The Governor said that to address the issues of fundamentalism and terrorism, there is a need to change the mindset of the people.

‘Students have a big role to play in this regard. They must exercise positive influence in their peer group. Students are the assets of the State and the guardian of our future,’ the Governor said

The Governor emphasised that with high sense of nationalism, knowledge and innovation amongst the students, the nation will prosper. He stressed that it is the duty of every student to remain focused on academics with positivity.

Students shared their views and suggestions about the good governance, the fertility of fundamentalism and the tragedy of terrorism. They unanimously batted for the developmental initiatives.
