ITANAGAR, May 22:  For the second successive day, Arunachal Pradesh saw 3 deaths due to Covid which took the casualty count to 95. However, it wasn’t all that gloomy as new cases witnessed a decline and there was an improvement in recoveries compared to Friday.
A 74-yr old Covid patient from Wakro, Lohit district who reportedly was not vaccinated expired today at DCHC Tezu due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. A 35-yr old male patient referred from DH Likabali, Lower Siang district who was suffering from comorbidity and was not Covid vaccinated expired at DCH Chimpu due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. Meanwhile, a 40-yr old Covid patient from Gas Agency Colony, Tawang who was also not vaccinated and had comorbidity died on Friday evening at DCHC Tawang. 
In terms of fresh cases, a total of 314 (asymptomatic 173; symptomatic 141) were recorded from across the districts with ICR- 55, Tawang 41, Namsai 37 and LDV 32 the first four districts. With these additions, active Covid cases of the state as of Saturday reached to 2936. While there were 206 recoveries on the previous day, on Saturday it rose to 291 (ICR 57; Changlang 38; Lower Subansiri 35; Lohit 33 and Namsai 24 the first five districts), taking  the state’s discharge tally to 20836. 4532 samples (maximum from LDV-810, followed by ICR 471, Namsai 469 Lower Subansiri 436 the other notable collections) for conducting Covid tests were also collected from all the districts.
Occupancy status at the CCCs as of May 22 was: 59 Covid patients at DCH Chimpu, 51 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 4 at DCH Pasighat and 60 at DCHC.
