ITANAGAR, Mar 7: The 8th State Level Painting Competition organized by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation was held here at Si Donyi Community Hall, near Helipad, Naharlagun on Monday last.
Payum Matey a student of class VIII from Ramakrishna Sarda Mission Girls School, Khonsa won the first prize followed by Ankita Bhattacharjee from Malancha Art Academy and Sandhya Kumari from Malancha Art Academy winning second and third place.
A committee of five jury members selected 50 students from the best paintings sent by various schools of Arunachal Pradesh based on School Level Painting Competition for 6th, 7th and 8th standards students. The theme of the State Level painting competition was “Save Water-Secure Life”.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintending Engineer, Water Resources (TW& GW Div) T Ligu praised the spirit of the students who took part in the competition coming from different parts of Arunachal Pradesh. ‘Water is indispensible for life to survive and judicious use of water is the only solution to secure life’ said Ligu . He also lauded CGWB effort to make people aware on the need of water conservation.
Among others, Scientist, CGWB RK Kalita, Director, Elementary Education, T Gao also spoke on the occasion.
