ITANAGAR, Feb 12:The BJP Arunachal Pradesh has taken strong exception to the publication of an unverified news article "Has Ram Madhav landed the BJP in trouble in Nagaland?" in THE DAWNLIT POST, an English daily of the state.

Terming the news published in its website and in print version as a new low in Arunachal's history of journalism, the state BJP President Tapir Gao said, "When none of the local newspapers in Nagaland carried the news, it is most unfortunate that a newspaper in Arunachal picked the purported fake news that was generated in a little known website which has been taken down since."

While appealing to the apex press body, Arunachal Press Club (APC) to look into the publication of the said fake news in view of the alacrity shown in publishing  such malicious news, the state BJP stated that  the newspaper has flouted PCI guidelines and media ethics.

Further, Gao has appealed to the concerned District Magistrate/ Deputy Commissioner (who is the authority for RNI title verification)  to initiate a Suo-Moto investigation into the circumstances leading to publication of such news and if found guilty of malicious intent, it should recommend for cancellation of the RNI registration.
