AALO, Feb 12:The Aalo Town Public Welfare & Development Society has announced to launch a dharna cum peaceful protest during the day of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the state capital on February 15 next to drew his attention towards the deteriorating condition of roads under West Siang district. A memorandum highlighting the same will also be presented before the PM seeking immediate steps on the issue on the day of his visit.

The proposed protest dharna was called following alleged surrender of tender works of Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) project under the district by two firms-M/S ECI and TK enterprises Pvt Ltd recently. The decision was taken in a mass public meeting held recently at Aalo.

The members present also asked all legislators from West Siang including Lower Siang District to give an audience to the public of Aalo in their next meeting and explain about their initiatives and roles in speedy execution of the TAH project in the two districts.

Aggrieved over the inordinate delay in execution of TAH projects, the society cautioned that “in case central and state government fails to respond to their plea within stipulated time, then we will intensify our protest and launch “No Road No Vote” movement to press for our demands.

Highlighting the plight of local residents, ATPWDS  claimed that the condition of interior roads including those connecting the Aalo town  with other  districts are  becoming deplorable by the day thereby making it unfit for commuting.

The society has been demanding that the TAH project  should be started at the earliest without any further delay. Issues related to poor cellular network connectivity were also discussed during the meeting.
