ITANAGAR, Jan 5:Social activist Payi Gyadi in a letter to the Secretary, Department of Elementary Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India while highlighting the hardships of SSA teachers serving in the state despite has sought the Ministry’s intervention in alleviating them from their misery.
Throwing light on difficulties and sufferings being faced by SSA teachers while discharging their duties, Gyadi said that there are more than 7000 plus teachers working under SSA in the state, but the work conditions are miserable and not progressing well, since SSA was first introduced in the state in the year 2000.
He further highlighted issues like untimely salary distributions, manipulations in midday meal implementation, non release of textbook to students, infrastructure problems, which he pointed is severely hampering the growth of quality education in the state.
