YANGTE, Nov 18:17 school going children of Government Higher Secondary School Palin, Kra Daadi District received grievous injuries when the vehicle (Tata Mobile), in which they are travelling met with an accident near Yangte on November 17 last.

 Most of the school children suffered from fractures, chest and head injuries. Condition of most patients are stable and those critically injured have been kept under close care and medical observation, as per report of team of doctors.

The children/volunteers were returning to Palin after conducting a special NSS Outreach Camp at Yangte Circle, when the vehicle slided backwards during a steep climb and capsized against the hill-side drain. The 17 critically injured were all school girls including the Programme Officer, NSS, Ashok Kr. Pathak.

Meanwhile Palin MLA Takam Pario termed the incident as unfortunate and prayed for early recovery of the injured students.

He also directed the Deputy Commissioner Kra Daadi to take care of the treatment and announced 1 lakh for their treatment.
