ITANAGAR, Feb 16: The RK Mission Hospital community has condoled the demise of Dr. Sekhar Das, who worked as a Senior Specialist (Orthopaedics) in the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, from 1984 till 2016.

He was instrumental in opening the Orthopaedics department in the hospital, and during his tenure treated a large number of patients of the state as well as parts of neighbouring Assam. For a long time he was the lone Orthopaedic Surgeon on the North Bank of river Brahmaputra.

Dr. Das, who was suffering from Heart ailment, was staying in Pune with his daughter and wife, after his retirement and passed away on February 11 last.
