ITANAGAR, May 16:
North East United FC (NEUFC) has announced its plan to visit Arunachal Pradesh to conduct its Grassroots Festivals in association with the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association and NGO Yuva Arunachal.
Club Owner John Abraham has been insistent about conducting such grassroots activities as he believes that everybody should have a platform to express their skills. "We are very bullish about our Grassroots activities in the North-East as we believe that we are sitting on a gold-mine of talent. For the Club to progress it is very important that we reach out to the community and engage them in the sport. There are so many prodigies out there waiting to be discovered. Hopefully via these programs we will be able to discover some of them and also get people together to enjoy and celebrate football,’ John said.
This will be NEUFC's first foray into Arunachal Pradesh and John who also happens to be the tourism ambassador of the state is happy about the Club's plans. "I am sure that the people of Arunachal Pradesh harbour a great passion for football and hopefully they will come out in numbers to engage with us and make the event fun and worthwhile."
The 2 day festival will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Itanagar from May 19-20 next from 10 AM onwards and will be open for all age groups. Participants who are interested in attending the event are requested to carry a copy of an ID Proof (Birth Certificate/Passport/Pan Card/Driving License/Aadhar Card/Voter's ID) with them.
