BORDUMSA, May 2: In a decisive operation conducted by Military Intelligence and 23 Assam Rifles on Thursday at Sunday Market, Bordumsa, Changlang, an Over Ground Worker (OGW) linked with the NSCN-KYA was apprehended.
The operation, initiated based on precise intelligence inputs, resulted in the successful capture of one OWG Manche Sumpa, a resident of Raja Nagar - I village Bordumsa.
During the operation, authorities recovered a smartphone from Sumpa, adding to the evidence collected against him.
Interrogation of the arrested individual shed light on significant financial transactions and operational details. Sumpa confessed to receiving a substantial sum of Rs 2 Lakhs from an unidentified source in April 2024, of which Rs 1,85,000 was transferred to Self Style  Major Phowang Ramwa, purportedly based in Dimapur. The remaining Rs 15,000 was retained for personal use.
He also admitted to his involvement with various factions within the NSCN. Sumpa further disclosed extorting Rs 5000 from a stone crusher on 10th April last.
Sumpa has been handed over to Bordumsa Police Station for further legal proceedings, while investigations continue to ascertain additional details about his activities and connections, stated a press release.
