TAWANG, Feb 3:
Bus service from Tawang headquarters to Chaksam under the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport was flagged off by the local MLA Tsering Tashi and Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok today.
The introduction of the 22 seater passenger vehicle which would be plying to and fro on daily basis would not only fulfill the long term demand of the people from Kharseneng area but is also a welcome step towards tourism development considering the historical and religious importance of the famous Chaksam bridge, the iron chain bridge built in 1430 by Maha Siddha Thang Tong Gyalpo.
Expressing happiness over the introduction of the service, MLA Tawang asked the staffers of the department to serve with dedication so as to give quality service to the people and to ensure its proper upkeep and maintenance.
ZPM Kitpi, Station Superintendent, HoDs and public leaders were also present during the flag-off.
