AALO, Dec 14: A total of twenty TV sets were distributed to registered labourers under Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) in an awareness camp held at PP Tourist Resort, Aalo today.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman APEDA, Jarkar Gamlin lauded the constant effort of the Board in reaching out for labour welfare in the district and urged the organizing team to conduct more programs to generate awareness about labour laws and various welfare measures as enshrined in laws for the labour community.

In his address APB&OCWWB, Chairman, Jalley Sonam said that schemes like housing loan facility, labour insurance at very low interest for the registered workers will be taken up effectively in days to come.

He further announced that loan of one lakh at 1% interest will also be made available to labourers and 20% labour cess will be spent for their skill development.

Jalley further laid emphasis on the need to affiliate  all trade unions of the state to Bharat Mazdoor Union to reap many of the benefits under central government and contemplated to launch distribution of solar plates from 2018 in a big way.

Special guest and member APB&OCWWB, Kenkar Yomcha stressed on the need to intensify the awareness campaign to reach out to every labourer in every nook and corner of the state.

He also disclosed that gratia payment of Rs.2000/- to contingency and casual labours are in the offing and likely to materialize before New Year.

District Labour Officer, S. Yomcha, President AAPWU, Tumar Bagra and President JWCAPTU  Rinto Ete also dwelt elaborately on Labour Laws, movement and welfare measures taken so far in the district.
