ITANAGAR, Mar 6: ICAR - Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Siang district clinched the first position in a three-day exhibition cum workshop on “Traditional farming and indigenous food of northeast” held at ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Barapani, Meghalaya on February 25 last. 

The main objective of the event was to showcase the traditional culture of the participant state. It indeed was a great opportunity for the team of progressive farmers led by Dr. CS Raghav, Senior Scientist & head of KVK, West Siang along with SMS, Agri Extension, Debashis Datta to showcase the tradition of Arunachal Pradesh through local produce. 

Participants exhibited local vegetables e-joko, Raro, Oik, Odin etc along with local fruits like Pake, Kukcho Lelo,Tali Bebo etc. The team also showed the live demonstration of Poka (local rice beer) preparation. Also on display were handicraft clothing items such asGale, Chuchak, Chugri, and Ochi (which is made out of cane, bamboo). The team also showcased their traditional dance (Mopin festival).
