ITANAGAR, Aug 2: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) of   North-East Frontier Headquarters, Itanagar  on Monday distributed 25 numbers of books titled “Guardians of the Environment” published by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the state media fraternity.
Speaking to reporters at the Press Club here, ITBP Deputy Commandant (North-East Frontier Headquarters), Itanagar, Madan Pal said that, besides their prime objective of protecting the nation, ITBP is also in an endeavour to protect environment and wildlife.
He hoped that the message laid down in the book on the protection of environment will be disseminated to the larger community through media houses and journalists.
“The book contains various aspects on conservation and protection of environment. We hope this book creates more awareness among the public on the importance of environment," he said.
On the sidelines, Pal also informed that ITBP is also working at the front to help the people settled in Indo-Tibet border.
Various programmes on providing health facilities, distribution of necessary items to the needy and plantation drive are among them, he added.
