ITANAGAR, Jan 22:As part of the cleanliness drive under the theme ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan’, Governor BD Mishra along with Raj Bhavan officers and staff led the Swachhta Abhiyan and cleaned the SRPL Colony & Senki Nallah, Itanagar today.
The Governor appreciated the effort of the residents of the colony for keeping the place cleaner than many other places. The Governor called upon the residents of the colony to make it their habit to keep their place clean. He appealed to other colonies of the Capital City to emulate the cleanliness of the SRPL Colony, Itanagar.
The Governor reiterated on a holistic plan for the disposal of the solid wastes, keeping in mind the need for waste dumping for next ten years. He emphasised on proper segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at the originating point for its proper disposal.
Secretary GA Azimul Haque, Inspector General of Police Nabin Payeng along with volunteers from Police Headquarters, members of Itanagar Municipal Council and other volunteers were part of the cleanliness drive and were fully involved to carry forward the mission of the cleaning of Itanagar successfully.
