ITANAGAR, Jun 15: Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has conveyed his concern over the mounting number of pending pension cases in the state to Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein who called on him today at the Raj Bhavan.
Apprising the DCM that widows and orphans are approaching him for the inordinate delay in processing of their pension cases, the Governor said that all such cases must be settled at the earliest. Mein assured the Governor of streamlining the settlement process of pending pension cases without delay. The other issues that came up during discussion were state’s revenue earnings amid the current Covid pandemic, hydropower development, non-conventional energy resources and various developmental matters. The Governor commended the DCM for his in-depth focus on developmental progress and personal monitoring of projects, especially in hydropower and non-conventional energy resources. Arunachal Pradesh has huge potential which must be harnessed for becoming a revenue-surplus state, Mishra opined. Deliberating on non-conventional energy resources, the Governor suggested more projects to tap the state's solar energy potential and revival of those installed earlier.
He cited the example of solar-powered projects in Vijoynagar in Changlang district which is now providing power for both domestic lighting and telecommunications.
