PASIGHAT, Mar 13:Governor BD Mishra arrived at Pasighat, East Siang District today. Continuing his district tour, the Governor along with the First Lady of the State Neelam Misra arrived here from Hawai and was accorded traditional reception by various communities of the district.

Immediately upon arrival, the Governor addressed a public meeting, attended by Gaon Burahs, Panchayati Raj Institute members, public leaders and general public of the district.

In his address, the Governor said that present Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving special focus to Arunachal Pradesh through Act East policy. Unlike earlier situation where every fortnight State ministers and officials had go to Delhi, now Union Ministers and senior officials of Ministries are coming to the State. Required schemes and adequate fund are provided.

Cautioning the people against misuse of fund provided, the Governor exhorted the public to ensure that there is transparency and accountability in the implementation.

Stating that the future generation are the one who should be taken care the most, the Governor called upon the people to send the children to school.

While interacting with the government officers, the Governor termed that rampant encroachment in government lands is a social evil and to combat the issue, the people must be educated and made aware properly.

In the meeting, the Governor also showed keen interest in promoting e-Text Books. Reviewing the progress and achievements of all Central and State Governments sponsored flagship programs, he also enquired about implementation of Smart Class Rooms in the district.

The Governor called upon the officers to be flag bearers in their respective of developmental activities in the district. We must work proactively and think out of the box for the benefit of the people, he stressed.
