ITANAGAR, May 23: Former Minister Dibang Tatak, who was a two-time legislator from Rumgong Constituency passed away today at the DCH Chimpu due to Covid. The state government has declared one-day State mourning on May 24 as a mark of respect to the departed soul. 
Late Tatak was admitted to the Dedicated Covid Hospital a few days back. Sources inform that he was suffering from comorbidities.
Late Dibang Tatak did his graduation from JNC Pasighat. With his immense desire to contribute in welfare of his people and development of the state, he initially served as Gram Panchayat Member, ASM, District Vice President and ZPM of West Siang District in the year 1992. 
His stint in active politics reached the pinnacle when he got elected as MLA from Rumgong- Kaying constituency in 1995.
Leading the condolence, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) said that late Tatak, in his long political career, made remarkable contribution in the State governance in various capacities. "In the passing away of Tatak, the State has lost a grassroot leader, who served society as Gram Panchayat member, member of the State Legislative Assembly and as a minister”.
Joining the people of Arunachal Pradesh in the hour of grief, the Governor offered prayers to the Almighty to give fortitude to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss and eternal peace for the departed soul. 
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has deeply mourned the sad demise of the former legislator. In his condolence letter to late Tatak’s wife, Khandu said, “With profound sorrow, I write to share the grief of losing one of the pioneering political figures of Arunachal Pradesh late Dibang Tatak. Not only as a Former member of Legislative Assembly but also as a humble, honest and a compassionate human, Shri Dibang Tatak ji has left behind a legacy to cherish.
The State Legislative Assembly Speaker P D Sona in his condolence message,  said that late Dibang Tatak was an experienced and committed leader, who made lots of important contributions towards the development of the State.
"His sudden and untimely demise is a great loss to the State," the Speaker said. The Speaker conveyed sincere and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed to the Almighty God for eternal peace of his departed soul. 

Pasighat East MLA, Kaling Moyong in his condolence message said “I fall short of words to express my grief on the sad demise of our beloved Tatak Sahab. I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and pray that they have all the courage to cope with this tragedy. May his soul rest in peace."
Former CM and MLA, Nabam Tuki in his condolence message said ' Late Dibang Tatak was a vibrant leader with a devoted sense of service to the state and its people. His utmost contribution to the people and all-around development of Arunachal Pradesh will be always remembered. On his untimely demise, the state has lost a great leader.'
May his soul rest in eternal peace, he added.

'In his demise, we have lost the most colossal bridge between Adi and Galo community of Siang belt. The vacuum would be difficult to fill in,’ said Jarpum Gamlin while extending condolences to the bereaving family members.
