ITANAGAR, Jan 4: The Banderdewa Forest Division seized several wildlife meat and articles in a day long search operation carried out at Midpu forest check gate, Doimukh on Wednesday. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the offenders under various sections of Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
A Forest Force team made the recovery from vehicles coming from Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Upper & Lower Subansari, East Kameng & Sagalee of Papumpare.
The team headed by DFO Neelam Nedo also included ACF Mito Rumi, RFOs D Dastidar, Chan Buru, Tanga Murtem, Mayuk Lamgu and frontline staffers of Banderdewa and Doimukh Forest Ranges.
The seized wildlife carcasses were later destroyed in presence of magistrate SDO Doimukh Ibom Tao and OC Doimukh PS Inspector B Tangzang.
Further during checking, the forest team also collected revenue of Rs. 25110 as royalty and penalties on seized minor forest produce transported without permits.
The DFO further informed of carrying out more surprise search operations across the division.
