ITANAGAR, Aug 29:In a memorandum addressed to Chief Secretary, the All Lorr Bath Youth Association has requested her to direct the Tourism department to not allow or grant permission to any NGOs or organizations to conduct programme within the premises of Ganga Lake (Gyakar Sinyik), which may destroy its fragile ecology.
Disclosing that recently the Department had permitted a society to organize a Fishing competition in the lake, the association opined that allowing such type of activities in the lake will contaminate its natural confined waters which may harm the flora and fauna.
Requesting CS for immediate cancellation of the order, it also demanded her to constitute a committee to inquire against the department’s move.
The association further threatened to launch Chakka Bandh on September 9 next from Zoo Tinali to Ganga Lake road, if authority fails to fulfill the demands.
