Basar, Mar 25:  Awareness cum Sensitization programme and training on improvement of Jhum cultivation through horticultural intervention was held at Bam village, Leparada district. A total of 67 farmers participated in the programme.
The programme is under project “ARIK ABIK LUNOM -Mobile Based Agro Advisory Services in Arunachal Pradesh” which is implemented by the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Pasighat, in collaboration with Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India. The broad objective of the project is to provide right information at right time and empower the farmers in taking informed, decision to enhance their livelihood through Mobile Based Agro Advisory Services in local dialect.
The project is being implemented in nine districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Martha Geyi, Field Manager, m4agri project, CHF, Pasighat apprised the farmers about the project's prime focus, objectives, locations to be cover under the project, farmers registration process for the project, benefits, and advantages of registration under the project. 
Dr. Raghuveer Singh, ARS Scientists (Sr. Scale Plant Pathology), ICAR, Basar apprised farmers about using the fallow land in Jhum cultivation for improving their income source and identification of Bunchy top virus disease in Banana and its control measure, Gundhi-bug pest management in paddy crop and avoid using of DDT.
