Delhi-based NGO donates 50 oxygen concentration to Arunachal

ITANAGAR, May 27: Mission Oxygen, a Non- Governmental Organization based in New Delhi, donated 50 units of portable Oxygen Concentrators to the state.
While acknowledging the NGO, Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang handed over the portable oxygen concentrators to the Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH), Chimpu on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, Libang said that many of the people during this pandemic have been dying due to the scarcity of Oxygen in the country. However, there are no such reports in the state, he said.
“Though we have not reported any case of death due to the lack of Oxygen in the state so far, we are also making sure that such a situation of scarcity of Oxygen should not be witnessed in the state,” he added.
Also appreciating the all round work of doctors and other frontline workers, Libang said that he is constantly in touch with the doctors to review the need and other problems faced by them.
He appealed to the public to support and appreciate the frontline workers for upholding and serving the people with sincerity and dedication at this time of Covid pandemic.
Meanwhile, director TRIHMS, Dr. Moji Jini said that the health department is much obliged for the help of well wisher Tadar Babin, who helped to acquire 50 Oxygen concentrators from the Mission Oxygen. 
“It was him (Tadar Babin) who approached me to contact one Chaitanya Aggarwal from Mission Oxygen. Accordingly, I approached the person and within a couple of days we received the Oxygen concentrators,” he said, while thanking the NGO and Tadar Babin for the help.  
Dr. Jini said that the most important thing during this pandemic is ‘Oxygen’. As the Oxygen concentrator donated today is portable, it will ease the patients to move along with the concentrator, he added.
On the sideline of the event, Dr. Jini also informed that the DCH has accommodated a total of 126 patients. However, it can also be increased to as per the need to 210. He also said that around 168 beds can be added in Block-B of DCH if needed but not with Oxygen facilities.
“We have planned to procure more beds to accommodate patients in Block-B as per the need and situation. But as of now the DCH has sufficient manpower, oxygen concentrators etc to deal with the Covid patients,” he added.
