Indian Army constructs homestay in remote border village
ITANAGAR, Dec 21:
The 6th District level U-17 football tournament “Subroto Mukherjee Cup” was kicked off on Thursday by IMC ward no. 25 councillor cum Vice President of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA), Kipa Takum at Government Secondary School playground, Chimpu.
Altogether four teams out of five higher secondary schools (GHSS) around the Capital complex are competing in the tournament, which is an initiative of Capital Complex Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE).
In his speech, Takum encouraged the students to pursue their academic careers taking sports activities alongside. He also advised youths to stay away from drugs and others contraband substances.
The inaugural match was played between GHSS Itanagar and GHSS Naharlagun, in which the latter defeated the former by 6-5. While in the second match, GHSS Arunadaya defeated Ganga GHSS by 2-1, in which Joram Taolom scored 2 goals for GHSS Arunadaya.
The winners of today’s matches will be playing for the coveted title of 6th District level U-17 football tournament “Subroto Mukherjee Cup” on December 22 next.
