ITANAGAR, Jan 25:Director Youth Affairs, DK Dinglow welcomed two state rafters who participated successfully in the first ever Indo- Bhutan Army Joint Rafting Expedition from January 12-14 last at Kameng River in East Kameng District.
Anand Teksing and Tajum Tair participated in the maiden Indo Bhutan Rafting Expedition in Kameng River organized by National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Dirang. Both the rafters were trained in NIMAS under the sponsorship of the Directorate of Youth Affairs and have successfully completed the expedition along with team members.
The Directorate will be organizing more rafting expeditions in collaboration with Nepal and other foreign countries willing to take part. To generate self employment for the youths, the department will provide rafts to the trained rafters by levying charge on participants (rafters) coming from various parts of the country and abroad.
