PASIGHAT/MARIYANG, Jan 22: Deprived from accessing internet and online related information in Mariyang under Upper Siang District, the Bharatiya Kishan Sangh Upper Siang Unit has demanded 3G service in the sub-divisional headquarters.
Blaming the available 2G network, BKS, Upper Siang District Unit Secretary, Mondo Ratan said “At a time when the country’s visionary leader, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi talks of digital India and Cashless transaction etc, the absence of a 3G network in our area and in this corner of India is very saddening.”
Due to poor construction and short height of solar panels of the BSNL tower, the services here are poor. Our desire is to relocate the present tower to a better place and 3G should also be launched, he added.
Ratan has also appealed the state and central government to include Mariyang under Border Area Development Programme and has also pleaded for early construction of the border road connecting Anini and Yingkiong via Mariyang while timely conducting geo tagging and satellite survey of the same.
The Kishan Sangh has also appealed the state government to allot solar panels to Darmro village to alleviate the electricity problem.
