ITANAGAR, Sep 10: Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti (AVYS) today recalled the invaluable contributions of former H&WF minister, late Jomde Kena for sustaining its activities.

If AVYS, led by its founder Ramesh Jeke, is meeting numerous requirements of blood units daily and treating four cancer patients in TRIMSH    today, the credit goes to late Kena for giving mobility by donating a bike besides financial help.

AVYS executive body members including general secretary Mole Mangfi  led by chief adviser Pradeep Kumar, advisers Dr Nabam Budh & Bengia Sinia, in a meeting in its office here, deeply mourned his untimely demise and observed two-minute silence to pray for his eternal peace.

It may be recalled that it was former finance minister, late Kalikho Pul, who was generous to donate a scooty first for the mobility of AVYS.

Interestingly, three of 1,000 people in India voluntarily come forward to donate blood. But, the AVYS has so far facilitated voluntary donation of 1,37,000 units of blood by conducting numerous camps in various parts of the state with the help of TRIMSH and RKM Hospital with continuous encouragement by RKMH secretary Swami Visheswananda and support of Dr Budh and other blood bank doctors.

This, however, had helped the state Govt to win Award of Excellence-2016 from National AIDS Control Organisation and Union Health Ministry for impressive voluntary blood donation in the country.
