Khandu inaugurates Arunachal Niwas, fourth facility in New Delhi

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: Arunachal Pradesh joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 74th Republic Day with much fanfare across the state.
Addressing the state level celebration at Indira Gandhi Park in the state capital here on Thursday, Chief Minister Pema Khandu called upon one and all to rededicate oneself and move towards achieving the common goal to make an all inclusive Arunachal Pradesh. Greeting the people on the occasion, Khandu paid homage to all unsung heroes and unnamed partakers of the freedom struggle, whose contributions were instrumental in the independence of the nation.
Earlier, the Chief Minister unfurled the national tri-color, inspected the parade and released the tri-color balloons to mark the occasion.
Highlighting on the achievements of his government, Khandu stated “The rainbow of our achievement spreads from the overhauling of infrastructure facilities, improving connectivity, transforming health and education systems, using IT for good governance to welfare of children, women and farmers”, adding “today Arunachal Pradesh is writing new chapters of progress in the promotion of local values, ethos and ethics”.
The Chief Minister further informed that the state has emerged as one of the top performers in investment pillar under North Eastern and Hilly States category in NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021, besides DPIIT under GoI’s Ministry of Trade & Commerce has adjudged Arunachal Pradesh in ‘Leaders’ category in ‘States’ Start -up Ranking 2021’.
On the occasion, the Chief Secretary announced the names of state awardees in recognition to their distinguished services - 3 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 16 commendation certificates. Names of 9 villages covering various districts were also announced for the CM’s Award for cleanest village for the year 2022.
38th Battalion CRPF was adjudged the Best Parade Contingents of the March Past of the day, while the NCC Girl’s Cadet from GHSS, Itanagar was declared the best student parade.
Other highlights of the day included ceremonial March Past by various uniformed contingents, NCC and Scout & Guides Cadets and School Children and colorful cultural presentations by various local cultural troupes and school children.
Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Sachin Rana unfurled the national flag at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium, Yupia.
DC Rana paid tribute to the freedom fighters and the founding fathers, who fought for the independence and sovereignty of our nation. He also paid homage to the Army Personnel, Police and Para-military forces who have laid down their lives in the defence of our motherland.
He further highlighted the new developmental projects in road and Air connectivity, Education, health, Medical, Power, Agriculture , Horticulture and allied sectors and the infrastructural projects of the District.
He said that the Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar inaugurated on 19th November and operational by the end of November is a ‘game changer and will accelerate the economy of the state’.
Other important projects includes Augmentation of water supply to RGU campus ‘ at a cost of 20cr , innovation centre cum labs in GHSS Doimukh, Balijan, Sagalee, and JNV Gumto, PWD Office, Doimukh, 4 lane approach road to Donyi-Polo Airport, Itanagar, Itanagar-Jote road, Steel Girder bridge with RCC decking at Ramghat, orchidarium at Komasaki, Kimin etc.
On the occasion badminton child prodigy Geto Sora was felicitated by the District Administration . Also the best performing ASHAs and Anganwadi workers of all the blocks of the district were felicitated under Arunachal Rising Campaign, for their contribution in community mobilization for health, hygiene, child and women welfare programs.
Commendation certificates were also awarded to the officers and officials of the administration for their services rendered during the inauguration of Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar.
Unfurling the national flag at the Padi Yube Outdoor Stadium, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime said the district was slowly and surely turning into a role model district and a major tourist destination with better connectivity, health care facilities, self-sufficiency in food production.
Asserting that the district has witnessed unprecedented developments in all fronts in the last eight years, he highlighted the Potin-Pangin Highway which is nearing completion and has reduced travel time between Ziro to Itanagar to two and half hours from the previous five to six hours and the air connectivity between Ziro and Hollongi has greatly eased travellers. Further, the 10 km bi-cycle track along the highway which is being constructed for the first time in the country has added more attraction for tourists.
Informing that the district had emerged as the major producers of kiwi and cardamom in the country, DC said that horticultural farming was carried out in an area of 41,350 Ha with a total production of 16,223 MT. The 16 Ha High Altitude Fish Farm at Tarin would also be upgraded to a 65 Ha Aqua Park which would be first of its kind in the country with facilities like Underground Aqua Museum, pisciculture of different species of fish, recreational fishery including angling and boating.
On health service delivery, the DC informed that the Gyati Takka General Hospital was emerging as the zonal referral center with a new state of the art RCC hospital building coming up.
At Tezu: Deputy commissioner Lohit, Shashvat Saurabh hoisted the tricolour at the Jubilee ground and addressed the public. He urged the public not to indulge in opium cultivation or its use. He said that Lohit is blessed with natural beauty and asked the public to save nature. He highlighted about different government schemes successfully implemented in the district. He informed that Sewa Apke Dwar will soon be held at Sunpura.
Later colorful cultural programs were held and commendation certificates were given to government servants and individuals.
Later a friendly cricket match was held between DC XI and MLA XI which was won by MLA XI by 7 runs.
At KHONSA: unfurling the tricolour, DC Tirap Hento Karga paid tribute to the father of the nation and the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom and democracy we cherish today. He stated the need for human resources,
importance of education and road communication in order to develop as a society and state. The changes in the road communication sector in Arunachal Pradesh is due to the good work on the part of executing agencies PWD/RWD/Highway etc., he added.
He deliberated at length on all the flagship programmes being taken up by the government and directed all line departments to serve with utmost sincerity and dedication to uplift the people of the district and to deliver developments at the doorsteps of the public.
At NAMSAI: Deputy Commissioner C.R Khampa unfurled the national flag and took the salute of the 10 marching contingents comprising of APP, NCC, scouts and guides and student troops of various schools. “Team Namsai is dedicated to transform the district which was created just 8 (eight) years back in 2014. In a short span of time, it has emerged as one of the best performing district in the state in most of the parameters and we shall thrive to achieve more," the DC said in his address. He mentioned that Namsai is an aspirational district and its transformation & development is closely monitored by Niti Ayog and the Prime Minister’s Office on monthly basis, as such he stated that there was no room for complacency.
Awards for literary and athletic competitions held were handed over by chief guest and guest of honour.
The award for best exhibition stall was awarded to Dept. of Horticulture and Commendation certificates for meritorious service were awarded to Gaon Buras and officials of various departments.
Celebration along similar lines were held at Chongkham, Lekang, Piyong and Lathao circle.
Tawang: The valley of Tawang town echoed with the slogans of 'Bharat mata ki jai' by the school children and melodious tune of Army band playing famous 'Sare Jahan Se achcha hindustan Hamara song'; the march culminated at general parade ground in the heart of the border town. Here at general parade ground amidst huge gathering Deputy Commissioner, Tawang Kesang Ngurup Damo unfurled the national flag.
Participating in the 74th Republic day parade the contingents of Arunachal Pradesh police, NCC Cadets, Scouts & Guides, Soldiers of Indian Army displayed march past and military band.
Speaking on the occassion DC Tawang paid tribute to the freedom fighters and gratitude to those who contributed in making modern India and its constitution.
Bomdila, Unfurling the tricolor on at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila here on Thursday, the West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki extended his greetings to the public of Bomdila and remembered the contribution of freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence.
The DC in his speech reflected on the COVID disruption in the last three years and urged denizens of Bomdila to maintain SOP in daily life.
He also gave information on various schemes and its benefits; the schemes like PM Suraksha Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana etc.
PASIGHAT: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu unfurled the national tri-colour, took Rastriya Salute and inspected the gala march past of seventeen contingents, led by parade commander Inspector, 5th IRBn Samuel Pertin in JNC playground in presence of MLA Kaling Moyong, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, ADC (HQ) Tatdo Borang, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, host officers, leaders, retired bureaucrats and general public.
DC Taggu greeted the people and conveyed his profound gratitude to the planners of Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for making India a vibrant and prosperous nation. He also extended thankfulness to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for steering the nation towards the path of progress and place on due record to the state’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu for rapid and revolutionary strikes made under his leadership. He outlined the priorities of the East Siang District Administration for providing responsive and time bound, and commitment towards service delivery to the people of the district.
Amongst major achievements of the district, the DC informed that the long pending border issue between East Siang and the neighboring Dhemaji district of Assam has been resolved amicably and agreement signed on Jan-23 last at Guwahati. He appreciated all who worked hard behind the curtain for successful resolution of the boundary issues. Land acquisition and settlement for upcoming railway project was successfully completed and all construction works related to Smart City Mission are in progress, he informed. He also highlighted the achievements and milestones made by the various government departments of the district in various sectors.
