Yupia, Nov 22: In the wake of the border tension under Kimin and  Kakoi Circle, the district administration Papum Pare convened an inter-state border districts coordination meeting  between the administration, police and forest  officials at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall, Yupia today.
The Deputy Commissioner  Papum Pare District, Pige Ligu  chaired the meeting and warmly welcomed the Assam teams led by Deputy Commissioner, North Lakhimpur, Assam, thereafter he  briefly narrated the historical aspects of cordial relations between Assam and Arunachal since time immemorial.  
Expressing his deep concern over the recent incident, he categorically said that effort should be done from both sides to  prevent  occurrences of such incident in future  besides working on to maintain the age old bonhomie in foothill areas by maintaining status quo on the issue of boundary. Meanwhile, he also pointed out the pathetic life of people residing in border areas without basic amenities like roads, power and water supply and opined that development should be given chance in such areas to improve the living condition of people on humanitarian basis.  
Terming the recent incident as unfortunate, the Deputy Commissioner North Lakhimpur, Sumit Sattawan, IAS said that border related issues should be addressed in a proper forum. He urged upon the Papum Pare administration to stop the ongoing PMGSY road construction till further discussion,  awareness  campaign among people living in border areas. No eviction  will be done to existing structures and eviction is done on newly cropped up structures in  disputed  areas  that too after following due process of law, and hence people should not panic, he said.
Police top brass of both the states   Chukhu Apa, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Itanagar and Deepak Kedia, IPS , IGP ( L &O) Assam both  impressed upon proper liaisioning and coordination from both sides to bridge the gap of trust deficient and mutual understanding between the two states for peaceful solution of such issues. 
APCCF, Assam  P.J Vijayakar, who also spoke on the occasion said that goal of both bordering districts should be building trust by maintaining status quo to avoid any future escalations.
Earlier, DFO A.K.Dev Choudhury, narrated the incident that happened on 20th November at Buka village during his regular inspection work at Ranga Reserve Forest area while DFO Banderdewa Chukhu Loma impressed upon peaceful co-existence of people on both sides and preservation of forest and its beauty for future generations.
After threadbare discussion on border related issues both sides agreed upon continuation of such coordination meeting in days to come to strengthen cordial relationships.
