ITANAGAR, Aug 30:The All Arunachal Pradesh students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the State Government to rethink on the implementation of Centre’s Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014 in the State.

The AAPSU opposes the move of the adoption of the policy as the State Cabinet has not taken into account the aspirations, opinions and sentiments of the indigenous people of the State. When the whole State is facing problematic situation because of
vexed refugee issues and no concrete solution has been visualized, such hasty decision is unwelcome by the people of the state, the union said in a release.

There are populace from various sections of people in the state such as Chakma and Hajong, Nepalese, Bangladeshis who are residing in the state and adopting such policy would invite debatable

and similar demands from this communities, President Hawa Bagang said.

The AAPSU has demanded the government to rethink and rollback the implementation of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy as it is overriding the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulations Act of 1873.
