ITANAGAR, Feb 19: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has condoled the killing of a minor girl at Wakro.  The gruesome incident has shaken the conscience of every peace loving and innocent people of Mishmi Community in particular and greater Arunachal society in general.  Tragedy of such magnitude should not happen to anyone. The union at this time of grief stands with the near & dear one of the aggrieved family and appeals the state government to accord necessary compensatory measures to the family members owing to rarest of rare nature of the case that shall go a long way in assuaging their inconsolable pain at this hour of grief, the union said in a release.

The union also appealed the Chief Secretary to immediately give necessary directives for stringent ILP checking measures to all the Deputy Commissioners of different district and also appealed to all the business houses, construction companies, transporters etc carrying out different business activities in the state and also the  indigenous people to cooperate with District administration and thoroughly verify the credentials of any migrant labourers they engage.

Strongly condemning the rape and murder of 5 year old girl, the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) on Monday, appealed to the state government to take serious note of the rising number of crimes being committed against children and take urgent steps to ensure protection of children against such crimes. 

 “Children are the most vulnerable and are often soft target for such crimes, which is matter of concern. We appeal to the state government to take serious note of the incident and urge the Education Department to incorporate one chapter in the school curriculum about the good and bad touch,” the APWWS release said.

The Society while extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family further appealed to the people not to take law into their hands.
