ROING, Jan 24:In a tragic road accident a tourist vehicle skidded off the road at Mayudia today and fell into a deep gorge.
The ill-fated Tata Sumo hailing from Tinsukia (Assam) had 11 occupants who were heading to experience the snowfall at Mayudia some 50 Km away from Roing headquarters of Lower Dibang Valley.
Four persons were rescued by the Army (Dao Division) from the accident site however the remaining seven are missing. The accident took place around 9.15 AM before 3Km point away from the Mayudia.
Our Army personnel camped at Mayudia rushed to the spot on hearing the unfortunate news and could rescue four people from 300 meters down the road however the vehicle is yet to be traced, say Army sources.
The samaritan service extended by the Army helped save 4 lives who were immediately rushed to the District Hospital Roing after administering first – aid.
