ITANAGAR, Dec 16:

 

Lt. General Anil Chauhan, General Officer Commanding, 3 Corps, Dimapur called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

During the meeting they discussed about Indo- China border security in the eastern part of the state and welfare measures for the local communities in border areas.

The Governor, while appreciating the loyal services rendered by the troops of 3 Corps in the state, urged for continuing the present welfare activities being rendered for the villagers by the Army Jawans.

‘Such initiatives of the Armed Forces will instil sense of security amongst the locals and also integrate the border area villages with the people of the other parts of the country,’ he added.

The Governor, who also met the GOC 4 Corps on December 14, expressed his confidence regarding the security apparatus and appreciated the preparedness and resolve of the Army for maintaining peace and tranquillity at all cost.

The GOC 3 Corps assured the Governor that the armed forces will continue to defend every inch of our territory and reach out to the local population and maintain cordial relationship with them through awareness campaigns, health camps and educational initiatives.
