ZIRO, Aug 28: Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime and SP Keni Bagra flagged off the Amrit Kalash Yatra at the Civil Secretariat here yesterday.
As part of culmination of Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, mitti kalash containing soils from Ziro and Yachuli blocks were flagged off to Itanagar which further would be carried to Delhi for making of Amrit Vatika near the National War Memorial.
The DC highlighted the celebrations of Meri Mati Mera Desh-Mati Ko Naman, Veero Ka Vandan to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) which had started from 9th August involving various activities including paying tribute to freedom fighters and tree plantations at Siikhe and Seeh Sarovars
The flagging off ceremony was also attended by ZPM’s HoD’s and officials of the District Secretariat. (DIPRO)
