Ziro, Dec 15: The Ziro Christian Council (ZCC) organized a blood donation camp at the Gyati Takka General Hospital here today.
A total of 24 units of blood were donated by voluntary donors from 22 interdenominational churches of Ziro valley.
Meanwhile, ZCC President Michi Tamang and Secretary Rubu Tadii said the camp was a ‘christmas gift’ for the needy patients who might require this ichor during unforeseen situations.
GTGH Blood Bank Manager Dr.Hage Yubbey pointed out that blood can be stored only for a month at the hospital. We need approximately 20 to 25 units of blood every month mainly for dialysis and cancer patients. I am grateful to good Samaritan NGO’s and generous individuals for donating blood at GTGH which is precious in saving many lives, he added. (DIPRO)
