AALO, Oct 22 : The All 27th Liromoba Youth Organisation (A27LYO) has submitted a formal representation to the Deputy Commissioner of West Siang District, demanding the immediate issuance of a strict order for the compulsory stationing of all government officers and staff posted at Liromoba Headquarters within 30 days.
The youth body expressed strong resentment over the chronic absenteeism of key government officials who, despite being posted in Liromoba, are functioning remotely from neighbouring administrative centers such as Aalo, Basar, and Likabali. The organization emphasized that Liromoba serves as both a Circle Headquarters and Sub-Divisional Headquarters, housing offices of major developmental departments; however, the persistent absence of officers and staff from their designated postings has resulted in severe inconvenience and untold hardships for local rural villagers seeking basic administrative services.
To address the issue, the youth body has called for strict measures across key administrative units, including the Range Forest Officer (RFO), PHE & WS Sub-Division, PWD Sub-Division, Veterinary Department, Rural Works Department (RWD), Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Block Development Office, Women & Child Development Department (CDPO), and all other government departments headquartered in Liromoba. The organization’s primary demands include a common directive forcing all Heads of Departments (HODs) and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to ensure their staff physically station themselves at Liromoba within 30 days, alongside strict adherence to regular office hours with attendance registers countersigned by the ADC Yomcha or CO Liromoba. Furthermore, it requested that salaries be withheld without a valid station certificate issued by local administrative officers, monthly surprise inspections be instituted, and disciplinary action under the CCS (Conduct) Rules be initiated against defaulting staff.
Led by President Banya Yomgam and General Secretary Ganya Kayi, the organization warned that failure by the authorities to enforce compliance within 30 days will compel them to launch a democratic movement in the interest of the general public. (HS)
