PASIGHAT, Mar 3: A month-long Yoga Trainer’s training camp, conducted by the Siang Trust, got underway at Sewa Bhawan, Gumin Nagar, Pasighat today. At the end of the camp, successful candidates will be awarded a Diploma in Yoga Education (D. Y. Ed) recognised by Pune University.
Resource-persons and other technical supports have been sourced from Yoga Vidya Gurukul, Nashik, Maharashtra and Yoga Gurukul, Assam.
Inaugurating the camp, Dr. Kaling Dai, DMO, East Siang District, appreciated the initiative of NGO Siang Trust in giving proper Yoga training to the youths of the State, and advised the participating youths to be sincere and try to get maximum benefit from the course.
Earlier, Dr. Onik Moyong, President of Siang Trust, spoke on the benefits of Yoga in one’s daily life. Dr. Moyong informed that the Diploma Certificate recognised by Pune University will offer job opportunities to the successful candidates, but more importantly, Yoga will bring a great change in their life and physical health if learnt sincerely.
In his welcome address, Kingman Komut, Secretary of Siang Trust, stressed on the importance of Yoga in today’s stressful but sedentary life. Komut lamented the fact that due to lack of trained Yoga teachers, people are not getting the opportunity to train in Yoga. He informed that the camp was conducted to create a pool of trained Yoga teachers so that they may go out in Society and teach people about a healthy lifestyle.
Group Capt. (Retd.) Mohonto Pangging Pao, Vic-President of Siang Trust, and Mrigendra Gogoi, Yoga Master Trainer also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
