ITANAGAR, Sep 26:  With the title ‘Ecosphere’, the Department of Tourism  today organised a competition to showcase ideas through power point presentations or model presentations on the topic ‘Innovations for Rural and Community Tourism’ here at State Food Craft Institute (SFCI) near IG Park.
As a part of World Tourism Day, the daylong competition was judged by Dr. Arindam Chakrabarty of RGU, Dr Millo Yaja (Research Scholar) from IIT Madras and Gandhi Darang, Freelance Journalist & Nature Enthusiast.
In her inaugural speech, deputy director tourism Bengia Manna Sonam asked the participants to present their ideas with zeal and enthusiasm. She further informed that the best of the best presentations can be made as policy documents in future.
SFCI principal SS Kar while welcoming the gathering informed the participants about the importance of the competition. DTO Nuyee Talong and TIO Dani Mamung also spoke on the occasion. Participants representing various institutes within ICR and at individual level also participated in the programme.
