ITANAGAR, Mar 3: World Hearing Day was observed in TRIHMS, Naharlagun and other parts of the state with full gusto with the theme "Ear and hearing care for all! Let’s make it a reality", by state National Program for Prevention and Control of Deafness(NPPCD) cell, DHS office today.
A free endoscopic ear screening camp was organized at the ENT OPD of TRIHMS. Also, a radio talk by Dr. J. Ori, Senior ENT Surgeon and Dr. P.Ringu, SNO, NPPCD on Ear care was aired by AIR, Itanagar along with Radio jingles. Also, TV spots by DDK, Itanagar were broadcasted on the same topic.
Free screening camps including that for school going children along with sensitisation meetings, distribution of pamphlets etc related to Ear care were carried out in the remote districts.
Along with rest of the country, District Health Society, National Health Mission, Leparada District observed World Hearing Day. The celebration was launched at MMR School Basar and Health & Wellness Centre-Primary Health Centre Tirbin. Importance of integrating ear and hearing care within primary care, as an essential component of universal health coverage were highlighted.
During the World Hearing Day launching programme, Health Screening was conducted to children and general public.
