Roing, May 2:  A District Level Consultation Workshop for seeking inputs for the Arunachal Pradesh State Biodiversity and Strategy Action Plan(SBSAP) jointly conducted by State Biodiversity Board and WWF, India was held today at Roing. 
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh assured all present that nothing would be done without consultation and approval of the local people. All norms and rules will be followed keeping in mind the beliefs and way of life of the local population. All the feedback would be taken, collated and points suitable to all areas and communities needs would be incorporated, she added.
Vishaish Uppal, Director(Governance, Law & Policy) WWF, India stated that the workshop has initiated the SBSAP consultation process in the district and issues and concerns raised by the participants freely and their suggestions that the plan development should be inclusive and address local concerns were noted.
Many present shared their concerns during the meeting and said that people’s participation from the grass root level is imperative and awareness creation at the village level has to be done before any action is taken.
