Roing, Aug 29: A one-day workshop cum training program on ‘Early Identification and Early Intervention for Disability Rehabilitation’ was conducted today at Roing by the National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Intellectual Disability (Divyangjan).
A total of 130 participants consisting of SSA teachers, SHG members and ANMs attended the workshop.
The objective was to spread awareness and impart ways to identify school going children with intellectual disabilities at the earliest. Dr. Dasarath Choudhury (Assistant professor and HOD rehabilitation Psychology, NIEPID) discussed ways to identify such students.
Ganesh Sheregar (Principal NIEPID) highlighted about the government schemes and benefits for the persons with intellectual disability (divyangjan).
