ITANAGAR, May 29: A workshop cum Capacity Building Training on Climate Change and Human Health  for District Surveillance Officers (DSOs), District Epidemiologists (DEs) and Data Manager (DM)/Data entry Operator (DEO) of all 25 districts of the State and Itanagar Capital Complex commenced at the Administrative Training Hall at Naharlagun on Monday.
Being held from May 29 to 3, the workshop is expected to provide understanding into the importance of Climate Change to Human health, its surveillance and monitoring mechanisms as per Guidelines from National Centre for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Also, the workshop focuses to train the District Surveillance Units in better planning and implementation of the Vertical Health Programs.
Chief Conservator of Forest (Env and CC), Rajesh S, elaborated on Pakke Tiger Reserve 2047 Declaration, way forward, and Report and Role of Health Department in climate change and human health.
Marge Sora, MD National Health Mission advised to emphasize action plan and encouraged the participants to carry forward the skills they learn from the training in public health intervention in the State.
In the following days the hands-on workshop on Planning of District Health Action for CCHH will be organized by SEHC with help from JHPIEGO team, followed by presentation of Draft Plan by all districts.
