Bomdila, Feb 25: Workshop on drug abuse, health and hygiene and education and women empowerment was conducted at Government middle school, Dirang by the Department of information and public relations, West Kameng in collaboration with Mother Kelsang Choikey Welfare Society.
On the 5th day of Losar, it was deemed important to raise an awareness on few issues related to children, youths and women. The guest speakers were Tsering Tashi(MMT president,Dirang unit), Advocate Gombu Tsering Gonpapa. It was attended by the Goan buras, GP members, WWA of Dirang, SHG members, elders of society and youth leaders.
Parents were sensitized to deal and handle the youths. Also, the society members were asked not to chastise or punish the delinquent youths but to support them through understanding and tender care to bring them to the right path. Health and hygiene issues were also was discussed.The importance of education and women empowerment were also dealt with.
A beautiful skit on drug abuse was performed by the students of Mother Kelsang Choikey Free Education Centre.
