ITANAGAR, Jun 2: All Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union (AAPWU) has sought the intervention of the state government to fix the daily wages for unorganized workers, regular DPC in departments and service extension for LC/ ALC workers.
Addressing the media at the Press Club today, Secretary General AAPWU, Tadar Chai informed that the rates for daily wages in the state are very different from other states, so there has been many requests from various corners of the state to fix the rate of unorganized workers.
"As per report, the daily wages in the state is ranging from Rs 800-1000 per day, whereas in other states it is 350 to 500. Moreover, the daily wage of government workers is also 350 to 500. So, we urge the state government to fix an appropriate rate for the unorganized workers," he said.
Further, he also urged the state government to make an extension of the service period of LC/ALC from the existing 45 years to 60 years.
The union also urged the government to provide Rs. 5 lakh to the LC/ALC during retirement. LC/ALC is the most dedicated worker and serving various departments since 1962, added Tadar.
Meanwhile, AAPWU also urged the various departments to regularly conduct DPC, so that genuine workers can get equal chances for promotion as per their eligibility. The Union urged the MLAs, Ministers, and officials not to write any 'Notes' to promote or regularize their kith and kin stating that such acts demoralizes the workers who are genuinely rendering their services for the state.
