KHONSA, Jan 20: Nocte Mothers Federation (NMF) led by its Chairperson Nilom Wangsu and President NMF Chanon Mongwang felicitated the newly elected Tirap ZPC Chathong Lowang here at her office chamber today with flower bouquet and Nocte Galey.
The NMF Chairperson apprised the new ZPC on issues such as domestic violence, child abuse, delay in construction of the Khonsa-Longding stretch of TAH, drug abuse, menace of street dogs in Khonsa township etc. Lowang while appreciating the steps taken by NMF for the well-being of women folk of Tirap district assured to address the issues. While assuring that she will discuss the TAH delay issue with the concerned department, the new ZPC appealed to all sections of society to join hands in fighting the menace of drugs in the district.
Lowang further opined that a women’s federation under a single umbrella such as ‘Tirap Women Federation’ should be formed for taking ahead the cause of women empowerment in the district. DIPRO
