NAHARLAGUN, Jun 26: Johny Mangkhaiya, a young karateka of Arunachal Pradesh has been selected by Karate Association of India (KAI) to represent the country in the 2018 Asian games to be held at Indonesia this year.

She will represent Indian Karate team in Women individual Kumite-68kg weight and in the forthcoming 2018 Asian Games to be held at Indonesia from August 18 to September 2 next at Jakarta and Palembang.

Interacting with the media, Olympic Association of Arunachal Pradesh Secretary General AK Techi informed that the state is proud to know that the our young Karateka has been selected at national level selection test held at Bhopal on Monday.

‘It is a proud moment for us and people of the state have high expectation from her and hope that  she will do well and attain the expectation of the people of state,’ he said.

Johny Mangkhaiya after the selection she was given away a certificate of selection by Karate Association of India (KAI) President Karate R. Thiagarajan and General Secretary Bharat Sharma at a function in Bhopal today. Mangkhaiya a national champion has won many medals in senior and junior category.
