Ziro, May 30: A one day orientation programme for women farmers under Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP) was conducted today by Block Mission Management Unit, Ziro, Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission(ArSRLM) here at DC Conference Hall.
The programme was intended to provide a platform for the women farmers and members of the SHGs to interact with agri allied departments and sensitize them about the important interventions under MKSP in promoting agro- ecological practices.
ADC Gombu Tsering  said that through ArSRLM the government seeks to uplift the weaker sections by providing them assistance for a self-reliant livelihood. Block Mission Manager, ArSRLM Dr.Tsewang Dorjee said that NRLM aims at social and financial inclusion of backward people by capacitating them with livelihood activities. “So far 108 SHGs and 10 Primary Level Federations have been formed in Ziro, which is an excellent initiative,” he added while urging all the SHGs to abide by the five rules which eases financial grants from government. Block Coordinator Livelihood , BMMU, Ziro gave a PowerPoint Presentation on MKSP.
Deputy Director Agricultural Boria Nakum  while assuring unbiased support from the department, advised the farmers to adopt integrated scientific farming and replace the local paddy varieties with high yielding varieties. District Development Manager, NABARD Mewang Lowang  also highlighted  the schemes related to agri-allied departments eligible for government subsidy through NABARD and stressed on the need to work out a convergence mechanism between SHGs and agri allied departments for easy financing and strengthening of SHGs. Later the members of the SHGs and the women farmers interacted with the officers of ArSRLM and allied departments.
Among others DVO Dr Hano Tama, Branch Manager Apex Bank Mudo Tatung and officers from agri allied departments attended the programme.  DIPRO.
