NAHARLAGUN, May 13:  Tragedy struck on Highway -415 as a 27-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal accident that occurred on Saturday evening when the two wheeler (scooty) she was riding on was hit by a truck.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at around 5:30 pm  in Papu Nallah near Legi wine factory. The victim identified as Apu Nalo (27)died on the spot while the pillion rider Chugum Nalo (28) sustained serious injuries.
If reports are to be believed, the truck bearing no. AR 02B 5295 was coming from the wrong direction and collided with the scooty head-on. The local police and emergency services were immediately called to the scene of the accident. However, despite their best efforts, the victim was declared dead on the spot. The driver of the truck Sanu Pradhan (27) from  Village Kimi PO/PS Bhalukpong was arrested and taken into police custody.
