AALO, Jun 16: The current status of the ongoing Covid vaccination drive for all age groups in West Siang district was reviewed in an elaborate meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi here at the conference hall of DC office on Tuesday.
While conducting the meeting which was participated by the officials of the Health department and other stakeholders, the DC opined that relying on electoral roll for identification of targeted beneficiaries may give a less percentage as there are many people who have enrolled their names in the district but have taken the vaccine in their current place of posting or dwelling. As a solution the DC called for a thorough identification of beneficiaries including pregnant women and patients who have been advised not to take the vaccine on medical grounds. ZPC Babom Romin informed that panchayat leaders are playing a proactive role in the vaccination process and cooperating with the government agencies.
ADC Yomcha Hento Karga informed that poor network connectivity is adversely affecting the online application process for vaccination in Liromoba and Yomcha Circles. Commandant, 2nd APP Bn said that 94% of police personnel in the district have been vaccinated although it has not been properly reflected on the vaccination web portal due to communication glitches. It was decided that stress will be given to incorporate all in the vaccination process except persons with medical grounds. DMO Dr. Moli Riba, DFWO Dr. Tomar Kamki and DSO Dr. Jombom Kato informed that efforts are on to cover all beneficiaries in the district by taking up the Circle-centric approach.

The left out HCWs and FLWs of the district will complete their vaccination targets within June 18 and with no shortage of stocks, 18-44 age group will also be covered soon in a big way. The CDPOs posted at the HCWs along with their supervisors and Anganwadi workers were asked to cover the missed workers and play active role in the vaccination drive. DIPRO
